SGPC chief, Dal Khalsa oppose Jay Leno’s remarks

Amritsar, Punjab (January 24, 2012): NBC comedy show host Jay Leno's derogatory remarks about Darbar Sahib, Amritsar have enraged Sikhs in Punjab. Avtar Singh Makkar, president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) said Leno's remarks were unfortunate. "They hurt the feelings of Sikhs” he added. He said that innumerable Sikhs have lost their lives to uphold its honour and dignity and this is a sensitive issue.
