Prof. Baljinder Kaur revealed that during the campaign door of every household of the state would be knocked to get signature of the womenfolk as their pledge to fight against the menace of unemployment, drug-abuse and price rise.
Accompanying by General Secretary of the Women Wing of AAP, Gurpreet Kaur Gill, Vice President Kuldeep Kaur, Joint Secretary-cum-Spokesperson Raj Lali Gill, Joint Secretary Surinder Kaur and Woman leader Principal Karamjit Kaur and Manjit Kaur Nabha, Prof Baljinder Kaur today released a poster appealing the womenfolk to raise their voices against drug-abuse, unemployment and price rise, as these were the issues, which adversely affected the women the most.
She maintained that poster is based on the documentary “Chitta Sach”, which highlighted these issues and this poster would be distributed among all women of all the 117 assembly segments of the state.
Prof Baljinder Kaur said that due to such issues, it were women, who suffered the most and time is ripe that they should come in open to raise their voices against these. “It is unfortunate that previous as well as the current regime never bothered about the concerns of women, who were given prominence in religion and religious granths”, she added.
The campaign would be initiated from today (June 18) and would continue for next month, she said adding that Several women Squad, comprising at least 20 women volunteers would visit every house of all 117 assembly segments in Punjab and after getting the signatures, these would be handed over to the Governor to express the anguish of womenfolk of Punjab against the state government.
Women Squad would carry a form in which signatures of the people would be taken that they are with the AAP in a fight against drug abuse, corruption, unemployment and price rise, she added.
Signature of women would be a kind of pledge that they would promise to fight against occupation, price rise and drug-abuse in the state, she said adding that data including the name, address and phone number of the women who would sign the declaration would also be taken during the campaign.
Every Women Squad would be coordinated by two Coordinators and more than seven lakh members of the AAP’s women wing would work hand in hand in the campaign, she added.
Prof Baljinder Kaur criticised the union government for such a steep hike in the petroleum prices in the recent weeks, which resulted in the acute inflation in entire country
