Accused of using derogatory language against Sikh Gurus, Trikshan Mehta thrashed by jail inmates

Ludhiana: Trikshan Mehta, nephew of suspended Congress leader from Ludhaina, was reportedly thrashed by some jail inmates yesterday. Trikshan Mehta is facing charges under section 295-A and 153-A of Indian Penal Code for using derogatory language against Sikh Guru Sahib.

It is notable that Ludhaina police had booked Trikshan Mehta and his uncle Parminder Mehta, a former councillor, for using derogatory language against Sikh Gurus. Duo are also accused of removing photo of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale from hoardings of Ghallughara memorial samgams.

As per information some jail inmates suddenly attacked Trikshan Mehta when the jail guards were escorting him to his prison cell. The jail guards struggles hard to free Mehta.

As per media reports Trikshan Mehta was shifted to Pathankot jail as a security measure.
