Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party lead Delhi Government today removed the counsel Suresh Ch. Tripathy from its panel for filing affidavit in favor of Haryana on SYL issue without informing the Delhi Jal Board.

AAP National Spokesperson and Punjab Incharge, Sanjay Singh today met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and informed that as the Delhi Government came to know about it the counsel was removed with immediate effect. Sanjay Singh said that before submitting the affidavit in Supreme Court, the Counsel has neither informed the chief executive operator nor the Chairman of Jal Board, Kapil Mishra. The counsel submitted the same 11 paragraphs out of 12 paragraphs submitted by the then Congress lead Delhi Government in 2006.

The Delhi Jal Board has noted with concern the contents of the written submissions filed by counsel Suresh Ch. Tripathy in the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India on 8th April, 2016 in Special Reference No.1 of 2004 (Under Article 143(1) of the Constitution of India), In Re : The Punjab Termination of Agreement Act, 2004.

These written submissions were filed by the counsel without the same having been approved by any Authority in the Delhi Jal Board.

It has been cross-checked that the contents of these written submissions are more or less a repeat of the stand taken by the then Congress Government of Delhi in the year 2006, when an affidavit was filed in the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.

It should be noted that the Delhi Jal Board does not agree with the written submissions filed by the counsel in the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the above Reference.

The Delhi Jal Board has accordingly decided to remove the said counsel Shri Suresh Ch. Tripathy from its panel, who was appointed by the previous Congress Government.

The Delhi Jal Board shall be approaching the Hon’ble Supreme Court with the request to allow time to file fresh written submissions.

Aam Aadmi Party State Covenor, Sucha Singh Chhotepur and Member of Parliament, Bhagwant Mann today criticized Akali-BJP and Congress for playing dirty politics and stooping to this level for their political gain. The leaders again cleared that the stand of AAP is very much clear that Punjab has not extra water to give it to any other state.
