Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) got a massive victory in assembly election of Uttar Pradesh, the results of which were announced on March 11, 2017. By bagging 325 seats the Hindutva political wing swept the state assembly which has 403 seats in total. Congress, Samajvadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party are pushed to margins. The BJP contested this election on Hindutva agenda and won with a large majority thus the results of this election hold significance.
