Challenging the DJJS or the dera Noormehal management’s claims that Ashutosh had no family, Jha, talking, from his native village, said he and his mother Anandi Devi, 70, were upset at the DJJS’s “lies”.

“My father’s original name is Mahesh Jha. He left the family in 1973 when I was one-year old. I am ready for a DNA test and to perform my father’s last rites. We are exploring all options,” said 1972-born Jha, a graduate who is running a grocery shop in his village, according to a news reported at YesPunjab.Com.

Jha said he met Ashutosh for the last time in 1999 during the sect head’s programme at Pushpanjali near Rohini in Delhi.”When I got to know that Ashutosh is my father, I started efforts to meet him. It took me four days to meet him during that programme and when I described my relation to him, he became speechless and expressionless and closed the door of the room and talked to me for around three hours,” he said.

Meanwhile, the dera spokesman termed Jha’s claims as fabricated.

It may be recalled that Ashutosh who triggered may controversies due to his anti-Sikh activities reportedly died of cardiac arrest on intervening night of 28 and 29 January; but the dera management is saying that he is only clinically dead and could revive soon. His dead, like his life, has also been surrounded by controversies.
