New Delhi, India (January 29, 2014): It is learnt that the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has made a recommendation that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) inquire into three decades old cases related to the November 1984 Sikh massacre.

Arvind Kejriwal reportedly met Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung on January 29, 2014 to discuss the matter and said he “is very positive on it. We will discuss the special investigation team formation and its terms in the next cabinet meeting”.

It may be recalled that SIT probe was part of AAP’s election manifesto.

Congress party leaders like Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar are facing cases in courts for instigating violence against the Sikhs after Indira Gandhi’s assassination on October 31, 1984, but the Congress party has never taken action against them.

So far judicial process in these cases has proved to be a futile activity.
