Arvind Kejriwal to release AAP’s ‘Youth Manifesto’ on July 3 at Amritsar

Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party’s ‘Youth Manifesto’ for 2017 Punjab polls will be released by AAP National Convener and Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal on July 3 in Amritsar. The function will be held in the evening hours, the full details of which including venue will be decided in a day or two.

Addressing the Media on Saturday (June 26), Delhi Dialogue Commission Chairperson, Ashish Khetan and Chairperson ‘Punjab Dialogue’ Committee, Kanwar Sandhu told that the Delhi Chief Minister will be coming to Punjab on 3 day visit. Besides releasing manifesto, he will hold meeting with different sections of society. The details of the meetings will be out soon. ‘Punjab Dialogue’ Committee members including Chander Suta Dogra, Gurinder Singh Birring, Gagandeep Singh Chadha, Dinesh Chadha, Nishchhal Gaur and Vikas Kamboj were also present during the press conference.

Ashish Khetan said that to draft the manifesto for upcoming polls ‘Punjab Dialogue’ committee had visited Schools, colleges, dispensaries, industries and other places in Punjab. After talking to the teachers, industrialists and other share holders of society the draft of ‘Youth Manifesto’ was finalized. He said that youngsters in large number participated in the dialogues with a hope that only AAP can change the present situation of Punjab.

Kanwar Sandhu said that a huge no of posts are lying vacant in the government departments of Punjab. There are many schools those are running without the teacher and around half of the posts in I.T.Is of Punjab are not filled. The sports teacher’s post in schools are not filled that had led to destroy the sports culture in Punjab.

AAP leaders maintain that the July 3 function is significant because this is the first manifesto be released by Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab.

“The party is giving a lot of importance to youth who form more than 30% of the state population and considered to be the future of the nation. After Youth Manifesto, party’s ‘Punjab Dialogue’ committee is working on similar manifestos of Farmers, Dalits, Women and other important sections of the society”, they said.

Talking about his experience during the dialogue, Chairperson ‘Punjab Dialogue’ Committee, Kanwar Sandhu said “The interactions with different sections brought out a dismal picture of the infrastructure and facilities for the youth of the state. Punjab appears to be state in collapse.”

Journalist turned politician said that the Youth Manifesto was prepared with extra diligence after holding 7 dialogues with the youth. The gathering in these dialogues was around 700 to 2000. The places where dialogues were held are Mohali, Sangrur, Patiala, Bathinda, Jalandhar, Malerkotla and Raikot. Besides the direct interactions with the youth at dialogues, a total of 1610 suggestions were received in writing. A total 340 suggestions were received through mails and the team interacted with 6000 people on facebook. The meetings were held with 44 experts in different fields and 6 unions were contacted along with visiting 10 education institutions and other places.
