Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has sent a letter for Iqbal which reads as follows: Dear Iqbal Singh Ji, I have learnt from various sources that you are sitting on indefinite Anshan demanding justice for Sikhs on various issues. Our government is sympathetic to the issue and would like to take all necessary steps to ensure full justice. However, the issues involved are very complex and require consultation at various stages. We will try to find solution soonest. Delhi Government has already recommended to the President the release of Prof. Bhullar and would also be working on other issues including formation of SIT etc, in sympathetic and time bound manner. Yours Sincerely, (Arvind Kejriwal) Chief Minister.

S. Harjinder Singh, who was part of the delegation that met Delhi CM told Sikh Siyasat News over phone that Arvind Kejriwal listened the matter with attention and assured his full support for formation of Special Investigative Team (SIT) and fast track courts to investigate and try November 1984 Sikh genocide related cases.

“CM may be meeting Lieutenant Governor of Delhi on Wednesday (January 29) to make a recommendation to form SIT and fast track court regarding November 1984 cases” Harjinder Singh told SSN.

According to Harjinder Singh, Bhai Iqbal Singh Bhatti had started his hunger strike at Paris (France) on 05 December, 2014 in wake of police actions against Bhai Gurbaksh Singh who was on hunger strike at Gurdwara Amb Sahib Mohali seeking release of certain Sikh political prisoners.
