Badals can’t mute voice of People using ‘Cable-Mafia’: Aam Aadmi Party

Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party has criticised the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) for blocking the telecast of Zee Punjab news channel in Punjab. AAP said that the era of ‘Cable Mafia’ in Punjab will end soon.

In a press statement Sangrur MP and AAP leader, Bhagwant Mann said that Badal-BJP alliance government has surpassed Congress in snatching the right to expression and there is situation of ‘Media Emergency’ in the state.

“It is not the first time that any channel which is raising the issues related to people in Punjab has to feel the heat as India News Punjab, Day and Night News, ABP Sanjha and Tehlka were shut down by the Badals in the past”, the statement reads.

AAP said [t]he action of Badals is not only the attack on media but it also snatches the jobs of hundreds of journalists. Bhagwant Mann termed the rule of Badal government worst that that of Ahmad Shah Abdali.
