Banned in India, Punjabi movie Kaum De Heere to be released in Australia on March 14

Melbourne, Australia (March 13, 2014): Punjabi film “Kaum De Heere”, based on events related to assassination of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi has been banned in India, but it shall be released in Australia on March 14. India’s Central Board of Film Certification had declined to grant requisite certificate to the movie on January 29.

The producers reportedly sensed that it was hard to get approval for the screening of the movie in India, and thus decided to release it in other parts of the world. Movie has already been premièred in Australia and it shall be released in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide on March 14.

Punjabi Lyricist-cum-singer turned actor Raj Kakra, who is playing lead role in the movie is currently visiting Australia for the promotion of the movie. While talking to a Melbourne based Punjabi radio – “Qaumi Awaaz” Raj Kakra said that there was much response for the movie from Australia based audience.
