Chandigarh/Amritsar: Aam Aadmi Party’s newly appointed president Bhagwant Mann today announced to terminate Upkar Singh Sandhu from AAP.

A three lines press release issued by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) read:

Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday terminated Upkar Singh Sandhu from party. Aam Aadmi Party State President Bhagwant Mann in a statement said that Upkar Singh Sandhu was terminated for his activities against the party. Mann said that the volunteers are backbone of party but none of their anti party activity would be tolerated.

On the other hand Upkar Singh Sandhu said that he had “already said ‘good bye’ to the party on May 8, when Bhagwant Mann was appointed as state unit president by Arvind Kejriwal”.

He said that people had put their faith in Aam Aadmi Party for changing the system but Arvind Kejriwal led party was no different than the other political parties. He alleged that Bhagwan Mann was a habitual drinker and entrusting him to lead state unit would ruin the Aam Aadmi Party.

Upkar Singh Sandhu was AAP candidate for Amritsar Lok Sabha by election for which polling was held on February 04. He had lost the seat to Congress candidate Gurjit Singh Aujla.
