Essen, Germany: Investigators in Essen Sikh Gurdwara blast case suspect that two teenagers arrested in this case may not have acted alone. The police have reportedly arrested another young man in this case on Thursday night. The arrest was announced by a police spokeswoman on Friday (April 22). The police suspects that the third suspect was also linked to the blast in Sikh Gurdwara Sahib that had left three persons injured.
As per a Dutch newspaper around 60 to 70 police officers are holding around the clock investigations to solve the crime. The Germany police has already classified the attack as an “act of terror”.
Two teenagers arrested in this case are identified as Yussuf T. (16) from Gelsenkirchen and Mohammad B. (16) from Essen. Both are said to be linked with Salafist groups.
On Saturday (April 16) a homemade bomb was detonated at a Sikh Gurdwara Sahib in Essen in which three persons were injured, one of them seriously. Local Police commissioner Frank Richter said that accused have clear links with the terrorist groups.
