S.D.M Shruti Sharma took bail bonds of rupees fifty thousands and ordered release of Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal along with Rajinder Singh and Ranbir Singh.
Baba Daduwal, along with two others, was arrested on August 21 in an old case by Faridkot police. But after his arrest he was booked in two fresh cases by Faridkot and Mansa police and yet another old case was re-opened against him by Bhikhi (Mansa) police. Baba Daduwal was granted bail in all four cases after which he was released from Faridkot Jail on Oct. 09, but he was rearrested soon after his release.
There were reports that Daduwal was rearrested in wake of elections in Haryana where Punjab’s ruling party SAD (Badal) was batting for INLD candidates. SAD (B) is also contesting two seats in Haryana in alliance with INLD. Punjab government did not want Daduwal to campaign against SAD (B) in Haryana.
Sources said that decision the Punjab government decided to release Daduwal as the campaigning has already ended in Haryana.
