Amritsar/Ludhiana (June 09, 2011): As per media reports former chief minister and Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Capt Amarinder Singh on Wednesday reiterated his stand on clemency for Sikh militant Davinderpal Singh Bhullar, who is on death row in Tihar Jail. Bhullar’s poor health was sufficient ground for conversion of his death sentence into life imprisonment, said Amarinder, though adding that that these were his personal views.
“Addressing mediapersons after meeting party workers and leaders from four Assembly segments — Majitha, Raja Sansi, Ajnala and Amritsar-East — he said that humanitarian grounds were strong in Bhullar’s case, as he was unwell” adds a News report by Express News Service.
