New Delhi: The drama of Indian judicial system continues in November 1984 Sikh genocide related cases, and a local court in Delhi has reportedly “pulled up” the CBI for not taking proper steps to finish probe in a case against Indian politician and Congress party leader Jagdish Tytler in a 1984 Sikh massacre related case.
The court gave “last chance” to the CBI to complete its further probe in two months in a case against Jagdish Tytler, in which he was earlier given a clean chit by the CBI. The court also referred to the phrase that “justice delayed is justice denied”
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Shivali Sharma pulled up the CBI for not taking proper steps to complete the probe, as directed by the court earlier, and made it clear that if no fruitful results are shown in these two months, the agency’s Superintendent of Police would have to explain, notes the Indian Express.
The court’s direction came when the CBI prosecutor filed a status report of ongoing probe and sought two more months to file the final report.
Three Decades of Impunity and denial of Justice:
It is notable that high ups in the Congress party and the Indian administration perpetrated the Sikh genocidal violence against the Sikhs in November 1984, in which thousands of Sikhs were massacred throughout India. Culprits of the genocidal massacres of Nov. 1984 have enjoyed impunity and high political posts during past three decades where as the victims of the massacre were left to perish as the justice was blatantly denied in these cases.
