Dal Khalsa greets people of Sri Lanka for punishing cruel dictator and human rights violators

Amritsar: Dal Khalsa today greets the people of Sri Lanka for punishing the cruel dictator and human rights violators Mahinda Rajapaksa in the recently concluded elections.

Pinning hope in the newly elected Mithripala Sirisena for finding out a political resolution to Tamil conflict, the party’s spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh said the outcome of Colombo elections was a clear cut lesson for all South Asian leaders who were ruling their respective countries by suppressing the rightful aspirations of minorities with iron fist. He said the change of face must be followed by change in state’s repressive and biased policies towards its minorities.

Referring to the US sponsored UN resolution calling for independent investigation against war crimes committed in Sri Lanka, Dal Khalsa leader said to go for fair and credible probe the chance looks easier now with the ouster of Rajapaksa from the top post. “Punishing the Rajapaksa regime is one form of justice, but real and substantial justice will be allowing Tamils to exercise their right to self -determination”.

He hoped that the new dispensation in Colombo while prioritizing its agenda would also focus on punishing the perpetrators of war crimes in Sri Lanka and redressing the political aspirations of Tamil population.
