Bathinda: A sessions court here yesterday (Oct. 3) acquitted Dal Khalsa leader Baba Hardeep Singh Mehraj and others in a 9 years old case. The case was registered u/s 342, 323, 332, 353, 186, 427 and 149 IPC on 4 October 2009 on the complaint of Dera Sauda Sirsa (DSS) followers Satpal and Sham Lal. The complainant had alleged that Baba Hardeep Singh and others had attacked them.

It is notable that a lower court of Judge Sumit Bhalla was imposed fine of Rs. 25,000/- each on Baba Hardeep Singh Mehraj, Ranjit Singh and Ghuddar Singh on 4 November 2016 but while reversing this decision Bathinda Sessions court judge Baljinder Singh acquitted trio in this case.

While talking to the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) Baba Hardeep Singh Mehraj said that the case was registered at the behest of Babal regime that was in power in Punjab at that time. He maintained that Badals had got registered a false case against them to appease Dera Sauda Sirsa followers.
