Amritsar: In the memory of late Bhai Gajinder Singh, the founding leader of Dal Khalsa, the Dal Khalsa has decided to organize a seminar on 29th September at Gurdaspur. The title of the seminar will be ‘Martyr, resistance and the road to Freedom’.
In this regard, working president of the organization Paramjit Singh Mand, General Secretary Paramjit Singh Tanda and District President of Gurdaspur Dilbagh Singh said that 43 years ago on the 29th day of September, for the release of Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindranwala, against the killing of Sikhs by at Chowk Mehta and to highlight issue of Khalistan on the international fora, Bhai Gajinder Singh hijacked Indian plane and spent 13 years in prison and 30 years in exile.
Divulging the details about the event, the leaders said that the series of seminars will be held to inspire the young generation about the revolutionary thinking and struggling life of Bhai Gajinder Singh. They said that after forty years of struggle, nearly forty thousand martyrs had laid down their lives, it is our responsibility and duty to carry forward the struggle for the freedom of Punjab.
Presenting the party viewpoint on the visit of the Prime Minister of India to the US, summoning of tainted officials of the Indian government by an American court, Dal Khalsa senior leader Kanwarpal Singh also gave sharp reactions to the derogatory comments made by the BJP MP Kangana on the Sikh martyr saint-soldier Baba Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.
Kanwarpal Singh said that on the occasion of Narendra Modi’s three-day visit to America, the justice-loving Sikh organizations there will be strongly demonstrating against the Prime Minister of India protesting the extrajudicial killings of Sikh leaders on foreign soil by the present government. He said that it is also important to tell the truth about the persecution of Sikhs to the international community because Sikhs all over the world have understood that the Indian intelligence agency RAW is behind these murders and which has indirect sanction of the Modi government. He said that the Sikhs feel that to suppress the voice of Khalistanis, Indian agencies can also target Sikh leaders active in Punjab on the same pattern.
Dal Khalsa appealed to the Sikhs living in America to join the protest call by US based Sikh organisations.
Referring to the summons sent by the US court against the tainted officials of India on charges of conspiracy or covert killing of a Khalistani supporter, the leaders termed it as a good and meaningful beginning and said it will be inappropriate to reach at the conclusion today but there is a hope that justice will be done for the bloodshed of Sikhs abroad.
Responding strongly to BJP MP Kangana Ranaut’s repeated insulting remarks against Sikh martyrs and especially Sant-Sipahi Baba Bhindrawala, Dal Khalsa leaders said that the Prime Minister and the Home Minister are silently watching all this unfortunate developments and in case out of hurt emotions and sentiments any Sikh took any drastic action against her, then the Indians will blame on the Sikhs and the government and its godi media will portray the Sikhs as violent community.
He said that Kangana has a lot of objection to Sant for carrying AK 47. Addressing the people of India, he said that Baba Jarnail Singh was not only a saint but also a true soldier. He said that the Prophets (Guru Sahibs) of every religion not only give permission to keep arms, but also give permission to use them in self-defence and to protect the mazloom ie the oppressor.
He said that Sikhs have paid a true and appropriate tributes to their martyrs by building a memorial within Darbar Sahib precinct. This gesture of Sikhs should be an eye opener for all Indians to understand that martyrs have a high place in the minds of Sikhs.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has portrayed the Modi government as a villain by referring to the religious atrocities against the Sikhs in India. The Dal Khalsa leader said that if we talk about the facts and contents, it is true, but the question is who is speaking this truth and why? He said that the person who is speaking, should know and accept that his grandmother, father and mother, Narasimha Rao’s governments has also carried out similar oppression and atrocities against the Sikhs.
He said that if a big politician whose family background is tainted, talks about our pains to appease any of his political opponents, then instead of being happy, Sikhs should ignore them.
