Chandigarh: Reacting to Capt Amarinder Singh’s charges that the Badal Government was going to negotiate with Haryana government to help the neighbouring state to “rob” Punjab’s river water, Dr. Daljit Cheema, spokesman of Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal), said Capt Amarinder Singh needed to check historical facts.

“Congress Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and the then Congress Chief Minister Darbara Singh are responsible for this confusion on the river water issue. The case regarding distribution of canal water was withdrawn by Darbara Singh. So the Congress stand on the issue is unjustified,” he said.
