Dead body of Ashutosh put in Freezer – Dera says still in ‘Samadhi’

February 3, 2014 | By

Jalandhar, Punjab (February 03, 2014): As per certain media reports dead body of Ashutosh, founder and sect head of Nurmahal based dera called Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS), has been moved to a freezer but the Dera representatives are still claiming that the he was still in a state of ‘Samadhi’.

As per media reports Ashutosh had died on the intervening night of January 28 and 29, 2014.

Addressing a press conference inside the dera premises on February 03, Dr. Harpal, the resident doctor of the dera, confirmed that Ashutosh was ‘clinically dead’ from the very first day.

He also said that he had been all these days regularly examining the body of the sect head and found him to be clinically dead. The body has now started ‘blackening’, he said.

According to YesPunjab.Com: [t]he dera spokespersons had been till yesterday (February 02) claiming that the ‘godman’ was in ‘Samadhi’ and there were no signs of a change in the body. They had also till yesterday claimed that body of the ‘godman’ was lying on a bed as a normal human being and the two ‘portable mortuary chambers’ which they had brought from a local temple had been lying idle and would be sent back soon.

However, on Monday, the dera spokespersons changed their stand and said that as the body had shown signs of change, it has been moved to a ‘freezer’ and the spare ‘freezer’ has been sent back to the temple.

Even after everything becoming almost clear, the Dera spokesperson claimed that though ‘clinically dead’ and moved to a ‘freezer’, Ashutosh was still in ‘Samadhi’.

“It is pertinent to mention here that Dera Spokesperson Sadhvi Jayabharti had been from day one acknowledging the fact that doctors have declared Ashutosh ‘clinically dead’ but had been all along maintaining that the ‘godman’ was ‘spiritually alive’. He had been claiming that Ashutosh had earlier also gone into Samadhi and this time also he was in the state of ‘Gehan Samadhi’”, YesPunjab has noted.

Even as Dr. Harpal, the doctor from the dera itself, confirmed the ‘clinical death’ of Ashutosh, Dera spokespersons still continued with their rhetoric, claiming that they would still keep and observe the body as they believed that the ‘godman’ was in Samadhi.

The dera also claimed that there was no succession row in the sect and all were just the followers and disciples of Ashutosh. The dera also presented three of the swamis, said to be in succession row, who declared that they were not in any such row.

Meanwhile there are reports that a driver from the Dera Noormehal has moved Punjab and Haryana High Court with a Heabus Corpus writ petition for the production of body of Ashutosh. The court has asked Punjab government to submit it’s report about Ashutosh by February 05.
