Jalandhar, Punjab (November 03, 1984): Sikh Students Federation former president and Secretary General of Akali Dal Panch Pardhani (ADPP) Bhai Mandhir Singh has stated that the denial of justice to the victims of Sikh genocide 1984 proves that conclusions drawn by the Sikh militants were correct that the justice could never be attained for the atrocities of June and November 1984 with in the Indian system.

Bhai Mandhir Singh, who was speaking at Model Town Gurdwara Sahib in Jalandhar on November 01, 2013 before the beginning of “Freedom and Justice March”, said that it’s hard for a common man to draw correct conclusion soon after the occurrence of major events; but as the time passes away becomes comparatively easier to analyze the events and draw some correct.

He said that the Sikh nation faced two major attacks in 1984, i.e. attack on Darbar Sahib (Amritsar) in June 1984 and the brutal massacres of Sikhs in November 1984. Mainly two thought emerged among the Sikhs after these incidents.

Holders of one view advocated that Sikhs should make efforts to seek justice with in the Indian state system; whereas holders of the other view, primarily the Sikh militants, had concluded that the Indian state won’t ever impart justice to the Sikhs. They had foresighted that the culprits of these mass-crime won’t be punished by the Indian state. They had further draw a conclusion that the only way to bring culprits to the justice was to adopt the path shown by the Sikh tradition.

Bhai Mandhir Singh said that outcome of the last three decades’ court(s)/ commission(s) proceedings related to the November 1984 cases prove that conclusions drawn by the Sikh militants were correct.

It is notable that soon after the 1984 prime culprits of June and November 1984 – such as Indira Gandhi, Arun Vaidya who were responsible for June 1984 and Lalit Makan, Arjan Dass, Dharam Das Shastri who were responsible for November 1984, were assassinated by the Sikhs.
