Denied in one case, police gets remand of Harminder Singh Mintoo in other case

Jalandhar, Punjab: A Jalandhar court today declined to extend police remand of Bhai Harminder Singh Mintoo. JMIC Jalandhar Prabhjot Kaur commanded Harminder Singh Mintoo along with Daljit Singh, Gurpreet Singh Gopi and Bhai Harpreet Singh Pintu to judicial custody. The police was demanded more remand of Harminder Singh Mintoo and others in a case register under F.I.R. number 103 of 2009 (police station Bhogpur) u/section 17, 18, 20 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and section 25 Arms Act. After defense council raised strong objections against extension of police remand of Harminder Singh Mintoo, the court sent him to judicial custody in this case.

But soon after that the police arrested Bhai Harminder Singh Mintu in case FIR No. 102/2014, under section 17, 18, 20 of UAPA and section 25 Arms Act of police station Bhogpur and JMIC Jalandhar Prabhjot Kaur sent Bhai Harminder Singh Mintoo on police remand of till November 29, 2014 in this case.

Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) over phone that Bhai Harminder Singh Mintoo yesterday felt pain in his chest and he sent to emergency for medical check up and also treated at Chawla Heart Care Centre, Jalandhar.

“Court on the application of defense order to police for proper treatment and regular heart check up of Bhai Harminder Singh as his heart surgery has already been done in last years” said Advocate Manjhpur.
