Amritsar Sahib: Questioning the Modus operandi adopted by Punjab Police while perusing the murder cases of ‘pro-hindutva’ leaders against Scottish citizen Jagtar Singh Jaggi, Member Parliament (MP) from Patiala and former leader of the Aam Adami Party (AAP) Dharamvira Gandhi on Sunday asked the Amarinder Singh government to prove and substantiate its claim that ISI is behind these killings.
“I don’t say that ISI or Pakistan cannot be involved in this game. But if there is a reality in this claim, the government should prove it,” he reportedly said.
Dharmveer Gandhi was interacting with the mediapersons on the sidelines of a seminar on drug awareness. The event was organised by Sai Mian Mir Foundation, headed by Indo-Pak peace activist Harbhajan Singh Brar.
“The media reports reveal that police behaviour with Johal is not fair and his basic human rights are being violated. This is being unjust to him”, he further said while interacting with the media.
Furthermore, the MP said Johal needs fair trial and he should be given opportunity to present his case properly through a lawyer, notes Hindustan Times (HT).
