Ambala: The Haryana government has reportedly suspended Fakir Chand, examination superintendent who had prevented Sikh candidates from entering examination hall during a civil examination held in Ambala on May 1. The movie came after strong reaction from Haryana Sikh community.
It may be recalled that Two Amritdhari Sikhs were reportedly barred from entering examination halls by Haryana Staff Selection Commission representatives. Duo were barred for wearing Kirpan and Kara, that are must for a Sikh to wear all the times.
The Commission representatives had stopped Karamvir Singh and Sukhvinder Singh from entering a Polytechnic institution here for the patwaris entrance examination.
Sikh candidates had even tried to convince the representatives by saying that they have to put on five Ks, including Kirpan, Kara, Kangha, Kesh and Kacchera, but in vain.
