Amb Sahib, Mohali (December 17, 2013): A Kaurkshetra, Haryana based Sikh Bhai Gurbkash Singh Khalsa is on continuous hunger strike since November 14, 2013 seeking release of 6 Sikh political prisoners who are confined in various Indian jails despite having completed terms of their sentences.

Bhai Gurbaksh Singh’s fast unto death has continued 34th day today. As per information his health condition is deteriorating day by day. Doctors say that he seems to be a person of strong determination but his body is showing grave signs of starvation.

Meanwhile, the concerned governments who have the authority to release or get released concerned Sikh political prisoners have failed to respond to the demands raised by Bhai Gurbaksh Singh.

In this situation Gurbaksh Singh has declared that if the Sikh prisoners are not release then he shall not break his fast and would continue with his complete hunger strike till his death.

He has donated his body, after death, to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh.

He has also written a Will on the name of Sikh panth that shall be handed over at Akal Takht Sahib on December 18, 2013. A “Vasiyat March” shall carry his will from Gurdwara Amb Sahib (Mohali), the site of his hunger strike protest, to Amritsar, that would be handed over to Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib.
