Gurmeet Pinky claims to have paid Rs. 50 Lakh for reinstatement in Police force

Chandigarh: A former police cat Gurmeet Pinky has claimed that he paid Rs. 50 lakh for reinstatement in Punjab police force. In an interview with journalist Kanwar Sandhu Gurmeet Pinky said that he he paid Rs. 50 lakh to Amandeep alias Skoda for his reinstatement as inspector in Punjab police.

Notably It may be recalled that Gurmeet Pinky, a Punjab police black-cat turned cop was dismissed after his conviction in 2006 in a 2001 murder case. He was granted premature release on May 24, 2014 and a year later, on May 16, 2015 he was reinstated as head constable in police force under the orders of DIG Gurinder Singh Dhillon. However the order was withdrawn on May 20, 2015.

Gurmeet Pinky said that he paid 50 lakh in two instalments of Rs. 30 Lakh and 20 lakh and reportedly showed an affidavit signed by Amandeep alias Skoda confirming receipt of Rs. 30 lakh.

He also talked about killing of Sikh youth by the police during the days of militancy. He said that he was involved in killing of around 50 youth but claimed that he was not involved in killing of Avtar Singh Gola for whose murder he was awarded imprisonment for life.
