Chandigarh: A Punjabi news channel, PTC News, has aired some video bytes of former police cat-turned cop Gurmeet Pinky, maintaining that Pinky has made “explosive revelation”. The news channel today covered an “exclusive story” to show that Gurmeet Pinky has moved a criminal complaint against former Punjab DGP Sarbjit Virk and journalist Kanwar Sandhu.

According to PTC News’ report Gurmeet Pinky has alleged that he was mentally harassed by Sarbjit Virk and Kanwar Sandhu. He said that he was given a written transcript which he read during his interview with Kanwar Sandhu.

Former DGP Sarbjit Virk has denied the charges whereas journalist Kanwar Sandhu said that he had no concrete information, except some media reports, about allegations levelled by Gurmeet Pinky.

Gurmeet Pinky’s disclosures about human rights abuses were considered to be vital exposes regarding widespread and systematic human rights abuses committed by state forces in Punjab during late-1980s to mid-1990s period in Punjab.
