Hearing in Moga case against Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara postponed to December 19

Moga/ Ludhiana: Hearing in a case against Sikh political prisoner Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara was today postponed to December 19 as the Additional Session Judge Moga, who was to hear the case, was on leave.

This case was registered on 18 February, 2005 under FIR 10/2005 registered at police station (PS) Badhni Kalan u/s 307, 323, 183, 353, 120-B (Indian Penal Code) and section 25 of Arms Act.

The lower court in Nihal Singh Wala had accepted the chargesheet against Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara in case case on November 30, 2017 and the case was committed to the sessions court in Moga.

“Ad. Sessions Judge T. C. Mangla was on leave today therefore the hearing could not take place. Now the case is listed for hearing on December 19”, said Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur, council of Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara.

“When we came to know about these cases, we moved applications in lowers court to update us about the status of these cases. Many cases are dismissed as the police told the court that it does not require Bhai Jagtar Singh in those cases whereas in some other cases the police have presented chargesheets and the trials are expected to begin soon” he added.
