Bathinda: Punjab’s Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Sikandar Singh Maluka yesterday rejected media reports that he was slapped by Jarnail Singh Khalsa in Hamirgarh village on Friday (Nov. 20). He said that he was merely pushed and not slapped by Jarnail Singh. Punjab minister, who is known for remaining at the horns of the controversies, claimed that the policemen stopped Jarnail Singh Khalsa before he could inflict any damage.

It is notable that Sikandar Maluka was in Hamirgarh village in Bathinda district to gather support for Nov. 23 Bathinda rally of the ruling party. He was reportedly assaulted (slapped, according to some media reports) by S. Jarnail Singh (65).

As per reports Jarnail Singh was badly beaten up by Youth Brigade of Mr. Sikandar Maluka and he was dropped at Civil Hospital Bhagta Bhaika about four hours after he was picked up by the youth brigade. He was later (on late evening of Nov. 20) admitted to GGS Medical College and Hospital Faridkot.

While talking to visitors S. Jarnail Singh said that “goons”, who were accompanying Sikandar Maluka thrashed him badly (watch video).
