London, United Kingdom (September 11, 2014): British Parlimentarians will be holding a debate on the “political and humanitarian situation in Kashmir” today.

The Indian government has expressed its displeasure over the issue.

India has construed the move as an attempt to criticise India’s role in Kashmir, even put a question mark on its sovereignty over the region.

Government as well as opposition spokesmen will participate in the debate, which was sought by David Ward, a Liberal Democrat MP representing Bradford East in the House of Commons.
