Jammu/New Delhi, India (May 03, 2013): It is learnt that a Pakistani prisoner Sanaullah (52) serving a life term was attacked inside the high-security Kot Balwal jail by a fellow inmate this morning and his condition is stated to be serious.

“Pakistani prisoner Sanuallah attacked in Jammu’s Kot Bhalwal jail, in coma”, reports Daily News & Analysis (DNA).
As per NDTV “a prisoner from Pakistan who was in jail in Jammu is in a coma after he was hit on the head, reportedly with a hammer, by a former soldier convicted of murder”.
According to a news report published on the website of Times of India (TOI): “It was not immediately known whether the attack on the 52-year-old convict with a sharp weapon was a backlash against the death of Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh in a hospital in Pakistan yesterday after being comatose for nearly a week following a brutal assault by fellow inmates in a high-security Lahore jail, officials said”.
Meanwhile, there are reports that Pakistan High Commission in India has riased the matter with Ministry of External Affairs, India.
“Pak High Commission also seeks consular access to Pakistani prisoner – PTI”, Times of India (TOI) tweeted.
