In a joint statement issued by AAP’s co state president Aman Arora, Punjab Vidhan Sabha deputy leader Sarabjit Kaur Manuke, MLAs, Prof Baljinder Kaur, Kultar Singh Sandhwan, Harpal Singh Cheema, Principal Budh Ram and Amarjit Singh Sandhoa warned the congress government in Punjab that it should immediately stop the process of shutting down nearly 800 primary schools in the state.

Party MLAs said that Amarinder Singh should not run away from his promise to provide education and health services to the people of Punjab which he is also duty bound under the constitutional oath for being head of the welfare state.

People of Punjab had reposed their faith in the congress party by electing Capt Amarinder as the chief minister of Punjab with a simple majority. ” And now when it is time for him to deliver on his promises he made during the assembly polls he is not expected to run away”, the MLA’s reportedly said.

State unit’s vice president Aman Arora maintained that in certain government schools if the attendance of the children was less than 20 it was definitely not the fault of the parents or the wards.” It is the responsibility of the successive governments who have failed to provide proper infrastructure and the policies suitable for the success of the primary schools”, added Arora.

Furthermore, Aman Arora suggested Amarinder Singh to learn from the Delhi government as to how it has been successively able to transform the condition of the government schools in the capital region.
