Srinagar: With the aim to strengthen the curricular quality of the higher education in Jammu & Kashmir, state chief minister here on Wednesday directed the state’s Education Department to introduce Punjabi along with Kashmiri, Dogri and other languages in schools and colleges.
As reported by the media Mahbooba Mufti was chairing a meeting of State Education Council here on Wednesday and took important decisions like equipping the institutions of higher learning in the State with requisite faculty, laboratories, workshops, libraries and other accessories.
Furthermore, she also directed the officials of the Education Council that primary focus on strengthening of student welfare departments in the Universities and other educational intitutions was need of the hour, so that we are able to provide well read and responsible citizens to the society. She also directed the formation of incubation centers so that so that the students get trained and pursue their career.
To substantiate her policy of introducing Punjabi along with other Kashmiri languages the Chief Minister further directed the officials of the state Education Department to recruit and create faculty for teaching the aforesaid languages and get them filled accordingly.
