Khanna/ Chandigarh: Facing strong criticism from cross-sections for hurting committing “blunders” during release of Aam Aadmi Party’s Youth Manifesto, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today apologised for comparing its youth manifesto with Guru Granth Sahib ji.
The party also apologised for the picture of its symbol, the broom, on an image of Darbar Sahib over the manifesto’s cover.
AAP spokesman Ashish Khetan told reporters in Khanna that he had no intention of hurting anyone’s sentiments at the launch of the manifesto in Amritsar on Sunday.
“Jo maine bhashan diya tha, usme mere muh se kush aise shabad nikal gye, jis se logon ke bhavnaaon ko thes pahuchi hai. Main apni iss galti ke liye, tehe dil se, haath jor kar maafi mangta hun. Meri mansha kisi ki bhavnaaon ko thes pahunchana nahin tha. Jo bhi yeh bhool hui hai, mukhse anjaane main hui hai”, said Ashish Khetan.
(The speech which I had delivered, in that some words were uttered that has hurt people’s feelings. I whole heartedly and with folded hands apologise for my mistake. I had no intentions to hurt anyone’s feelings. This mistake was committed in ignorance).
The manifesto was released by Delhi chief minister and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal at the function in Amritsar.
On the other hand Kanwar Sandhu, who chairs AAP’s manifesto committee said that some people have raised objections to use to AAP’s election symbol broom (jhaaro) over a photo graph of Darbar Sahib on AAP’s election manifesto. “We also apologise for this also”, he added.
Responding to a media query he said that the title of new copies of youth manifesto will be changed.

Kanwar Sandhu and Ashish Khetan apologise on the Manifesto issue While clarifying the party’s stand on the issue of Party youth’s manifesto, Head of the Punjab Dialogue Kanwar Sandhu and Chairman of Delhi Dialogue Ashish Khetan submitted apology. Khetan said “inadvertently he expressed some words while releasing youth manifesto for which we felt apololegic.” “We never intended to undermine any section, community or any individual”, Khetan said. Kanwar Sandhu said “there are some objections raised on the cover page of Youth Manifesto. We submit apology to every individual, whose emotions were hurt and will ensure not to repeat this in future”.
