Ludhiana Police Gets Transit Remand of Jagtar Singh Jaggi after court commits him to judicial custody in Sultan Masih Case

Ludhiana: The district police today produced arrested U. K. citizen Jagtar Singh Johal aka Jaggi before a court of Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMIC) after his police remand expired. The police demanded 5 urged the court to extend his police remand to five more day. Defence lawyer Advo. Jaspal Singh Manjhpur told the court that there was no need to extend the police remand on ‘same ground’ on which the remand was previously extended.

“Jagtar Singh Jaggi was presented before the Sumit Sabharwal (JMIC) in case FIR No. 218/17 (PS Salem Tabri), which pertains to the killing of Pastor Sultan Masih. As the judge did not entertain police plea for extension of police remand, the police placed an application requesting his transit remand in another case”, Advo. Jaspal Singh Manjhpur told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) over phone.

“As the police have got the transit remand, now the police is expected to present Jagtar Singh Jaggi before another magistrate to seek his police remand in FIR no. 7/16 (PS Division no. 2) which pertains to firing on a  Kidwai Nagar Skhakha (Branch) of Hindutva outfit Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS).
