Maghi Conference: SAD Mann, UAD jointly blow horn for Khadoor Sahib bypoll

Mukatsar Sahib: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), United Akali Dal (UAD), Shiromani Akali Dal (1920) and Shiromani Akali Dal (Swatantar) have announced to contest the Khadoor Sahib assembly bypoll scheduled to be held on February 13.

Passing a series of resolutions during a joint conference at Mukatsar Sahib on the occasion of Maghi, these parties announced to hold a march from Tarn Taran to Khadoor Sahib on January 25 and 26 to draw support for their candidate.

Criticising the Badal-BJP combine’s government for framing sedition charges against those who had organised the November 10 Panthic congregation leaders of these Sikh political parties demanded their release.

SAD (Mann) and United Akali Dal also adopted a resolution demanding release of Sikh prisoners languishing in jails across the Indian peninsula after completing their prison term.

Announcing to hold an international Sikh conference at Fatehgarh Sahib on February 12, these Sikh parties said protest marches will be held across the state in March and a schedule in this regard would be announced on February 12.

Besides this, they also announced to form a human chain from Bargari to Faridkot on February 27 seeking justice for victims of police firing at Behbal Kala village in October last year. SAD (Mann) and UAD maintained that preparations Sarbat Khalsa to be held on Baisakhi in April have started.
