Sangrur, Punjab: Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar (Mann) candidate S. Surjit Singh Kalaboola yesterday filed his nomination papers for Dhuri constituency by-polls. Surjit Singh Kalaboola, who is also a member of the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC), was accompanied by party president Simranjeet Singh Mann, Dhian Singh Mand and other party leaders while filing his nomination papers.
S. Simranjeet S. Mann said that Dhuri by-poll will be contested on the issue of corruption, unemployment, health, social security and restoration of law and other in the state.
Mann maintained that Congress and Badal-BJP combine have lost their base and people of Dhuri would elect Surjit Singh Kalaboola with a big difference.
On the other hand Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) has fielded Gobind Singh Longowal as it’s candidate for Dhuri by-poll. He is expected to file nomination papers on March 23.
