Army Camp in Kupwara Attacked, Captain, 2 Soldiers Among Dead

Kupwara:  As per the media reports three armymen and two militants were killed here today when the gunmen attacked an army camp in Kupwara district close to the Line of Control (LoC). A Captain is among the three Army-men killed in the attack.

It was reported by the media that the militants who attacked the army camp today in the morning were heavily armed, Moreover media reports further stated that that two more militants are still holed up and attempts are being made to smoke them out. The entire area has been cordoned off and search operations are underway. It is widely believed that the militants who stormed the army camp are having links with Jaish-e-Mohammad.

In the wake of this attack Jammu & Kashmir police chief SP Vaid  instructed for beefing up of security in the summer capital to ensure smooth functioning of the offices, He also asked the traffic police to redouble their efforts to ensure smooth flow of traffic.
