More trouble for Punjabi Rapper Honey Singh – Ambala court asked police to file report on vulgar songs by April 4

Ambala, Haryana (February 28, 2013): According to recent media reports it appears that the opposition to vulgar songs and obscene videos is gaining momentum. This could bring more trouble for controversial singers who restore to vulgar songs and obscene videos for earning money.

As per reports a judicial magistrate of Ambala has directed the the police to inquire into the obscene lyrics of Punjabi rapper Honey Singh.

Judicial magistrate (JMIC) Hitesh Garg has reportedly asked Station House Officer (SHO) of Baldev Nagar to inquire into the alleged obscene lyrics used by Punjabi rapper Honey Singh in his songs. The police is asked to file the report to the court by April 4, 2013.

According to a news reported by PTI, which has been produced by various media networks, newspaper and websites, a local resident of Ambala – named Sanjay Khera, had filed a complaint under certain sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) related to obscenity offences on January 3, 2013 against rapper Honey Singh. The complainant had reportedly demanding ban on his music albums.

In him complaint, moved through advocate Sandeep Sachdeva, Sanjay Khera had pleaded that Honey Singh’s songs were vulgar and obscene in nature, and not fit to be aired.

As per reports Sanjay Khera produced two CDs of Honey Singh in the court on February 27, 2013 which reportedly included few alleged vulgar songs.

It is notable that various social groups are up in arms against vulgar songs. According to these groups such songs amount to cultural pollution.
