Fatehgarh Sahib: Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar (Mann) chief and former Member of Indian Parliament, S. Simranjeet Singh Mann said in a written statement today that Namdhari chief Uday Singh should not accept security cover offered by the Punjab government.

S. Simranjeet Singh Mann said that Baba Ram Singh, the founder of the Namdhari mission, made a great sacrifice during the struggle for freedom from the British regime and for the service the humanity and the nation. He said that Baba Ram Singh was a great personality who had full faith on Sri Guru Granth Sahib.

S. Mann said that the British committed inhuman atrocities on Namdharis and blew them up with the canons but they (the British) were not able to damage their (Namdhari) true spirit.

He said that if Namdhari chief Uday Singh accepts the security cover offered by the government then it would result in major harm to the Namdhari ideology of upholding the truth.

He said that Namdhari movement was an inseparable part of the Sikh nation and Namdhari chief Uday Singh should uphold the values propagated by Baba Ram Singh by rejecting the security covered provided by the Punjab government.
