No political conferences at Talwandi Sabo on Vaisakhi; Jathedar, SGPC head urge people to shun drugs

Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda (April 15, 2014): Lakhs paid obeisance at Takht Damdama Sahib (Talwandi Sabo) on the eve of Khalsa Sajna Day (Vaisakhi). This time, Vaisakhi at Talwandi Sabo remained devoid of any political conferences in view of the restrictions imposed by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

Meanwhile, Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Jathedar Giani Balwant Singh Nandgarh and SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar, in their address to the Sikh masses, urged people to shun drugs.

The Gurdwara authorities made elaborate arrangements for the stay of devotees from Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and other states.

People enjoyed show of Sikh martial arts “gatka”. A turban tying competition was also organized.
