Pathankot: The border districts of Pathankot and Gurdaspur are put on high alert after a senior Punjab police officer and two others were allegedly abducted by five men in army fatigues and beaten up before being released near Pathankot.
A news reported by Hindustan Times (HT) notes that “Salwinder Singh, a superintendent of police in Gurdaspur, has claimed that he and his friend and one of his junior colleagues were on their way to Gurdaspur from Pathankot late on Thursday night when the men signaled them to stop near Dinanagar”.
“Salwinder Singh and his friends were found at Akalgarh. While the kidnappers did not hurt the cop, his friends were injured. They have been admitted to Amandeep hospital,” SP, Pathankot RK Bakshi said.
As per media reports Salwinder Singh is being questioned by officers of the Intelligence Bureau.
