Police arrest three for beadbi of Quran in Malerkotla; Hate for Pakistan said to be reason behind Beadbi

Sangrur: The Punjab police have arrested three persons for committing beadbi of Quran in Malerkotla. The police said that the main accused Vijay Kumar is from Jind in Haryana and his alleged accomplices Nand Kishore Goldy and his son, Gaurav, are from Begowal village in Taragarh area of Pathankot district.

Patiala range inspector general of police Paramraj Singh Urmranangal reportedly told media persons that the main accused Vijay Kumar is a Pakistan and Muslim hater and he wanted to trigger communal violance by committing beadbi of Quran. He said that Vijay Kumar even administers an anti-Pakistan whatsapp group and wanted to ‘avenge’ Pathankot attack.

The 24 June beadbi incident had led to violence in only Muslim dominated city in Punjab.
