Faridkot, Punjab (September 02, 2014): The mystery surrounding the resignation of Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal from Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC) has deepen further as the family members, supporters and associates of Baba Daduwal in the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC) alleged that the police nurture Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal to obtain his signatures on blank papers.

The family members and supports of Baba Baljit Singh visited him in the Central Jail, Faridkot on September 01 and said that Baba Baljit Singh told then that the police forced him to sign on blank papers.

The arrested Sikh preacher is in judicial custody in two cases against him in Faridkot district. He is also facing two more cases in Mansa district.

After meeting daduwal Gurmeet Singh, Baba Daduwal’s father-in-law, claimed that he was not in good health as he was not getting proper treatment inside the jail. On the ‘resignation’ row, he said he had spoken to his son-in-law but would not say anything till the latter was released on bail.

According to a news reported by The Tribune (TT), Harinder Singh, HSGMC member, was among those who visited Baba Daduwal claimed that the police had pressured the Baba Baljti Singh into signing on blank papers.

“The HSGMC has yet to receive his resignation letter,” he claimed. “It is all a drama by the Punjab government and the SGPC to weaken the HSGMC. Besides slapping fresh criminal cases on Daduwal and opening closed cases, the police have wrested the control of Gurdwara Jandialisar in Bathinda to weaken the Baba’s support base and demoralise him,” he alleged.
