Srinagar: Pro-freedom Kashmiri leader and Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Monday participated in the graffiti protest campaign called as part of joint resistance programme against civilian killings in Kashmir.

SAS Geelani, who is under continuous house arrest, wrote “Go India Go Back” on the front wall of his residence-cum-office at Hydepora.

The joint resistance camp—Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik—had urged people to particularly youth to “express their sentiments by writing slogans like ‘We want Freedom’, ‘Freedom for all, Freedom for Jammu Kashmir’, ‘Go India Go Back’, “Hum Kya Chata Azadi” on roads, walls, shop shutters.”

While leading the graffiti campaign, Geelani, according to a Hurriyat (G) statement, said government employees are a “vital part” of our society and they have a “bigger responsibility towards their own Kashmiri nation.”

“Youths are sacrificing their precious lives for the better future of their people, so employees too have to play a positive role in this struggle,” he said.
