Ludhiana, Punjab: All the trains to and from Delhi have been stranded at Ludhiana. Railway Station following the blocking of Railway tracks near Gurudwara Dukh Niwaran in Ludhiana.
It was early in the morning at around 4 am that the members of Danga Peedit Welfare association started assembling near Gurudwara Dukh Niwaran close to Ludhiana Railway station on Saturday. These protesters as per their declared plan blocked the Railway track at 5 am and said that they would keep it blocked till 10 am.
“As a part of Punjab Bandh call by various associations we had announced the blocking of trains at Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Amritsar and we have done the same. The tracks would remain blocked till 10 am,”said Amrit Rajpal an office bearer of Punjab Danga Peedit Welfare Association.
According to the information yielded by a Railway personnel the blocking of tracks is all set to affect the movement of over 20 trains. As the trains are stranded at Railway station the others are stranded on the railway tracks at one point or the other. Trains Like Shatabdi, Shree Shakti, Amritsar Delhi express are few amongst the affected trains.
The Sikh bodies declared a schedule to stop the trains in advance so that the passengers could suffer to the minimum extent due to bandh call.
