Ramidiwala (Mattewal) Beadbi incident accused assaulted with swords

Baba Bakala Sahib: Two Nihang Singhs reportedly assaulted three accused persons, who were arrested for committing beadbi of Guru Granth Sahib at Ramidiwala Musalmanan, with swords during their court appearance at Baba Bakala Sahib court complex.

Notably three persons were arrested for committing the beadbi of Guru Granth Sahib at Ramidiwala Musalmanan village near Mattewal in Amritsar district on intervening night of 11 and 12 March.

Accused were remanded to three days police remand on March 12 by a local court and they were presented before the court today. When the police brought the accused to the court complex, some Nihang Singhs assaulted them with swords but the police prevented the attack and took the accused to the court under tight security.

As per reports one police personnel received minor injury on his hand during the incident.

The court re-sent the accused persons to five days police remand and they will be reproduced in the court on March 18.

The Sikh sangat, all over the world, have been grieved and outraged by incident of beadbi of Guru Granth Sahib.
