Fatehgarh Sahib (November 24, 2009): Shiromani Akali Dal (Panch Pardhani) has demanded re-probe of Chithisinghpura massacre in which 34 innocent Sikhs were killed on March 20, 2000. The killings had took place in wake of the visit of Bill Clinton, then President of USA, to India and this fact has been affirmed by Clinton. Panch Pardhani Secretary General Bhai Harpal Singh Cheema has said in a statement that recent exposure made by Farooq Abdullah, former CM of J&K that the investigations of this massacre were sabotaged by influential powers has confirmed the claims of the Sikhs that they are denied justice under contemporary India. ‘As is claimed by his Party that Manmohan Singh is a Sikh Prime Miniser, he should order afresh probe into the matter and secure justice for the victims, as it is prime duty of every Sikh to uphold the truth’ said Bhai Cheema.
