SAD (Badal) Chief Sukhbir Badal Reorganises Party Structure, Manjit Singh GK Reappointed As Delhi Unit Chief

Chandigarh: Former deputy Chief Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) president Sukhbir Badal on Thursday reappointed Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) president Manjit Singh GK as President of the Delhi SAD (Badal) unit, even as former army chief and Arunachal Pradesh Governor Gen (retd) J J Singh has been appointed as new President of the SAD Ex-Servicemen wing.

Disclosing this here today, a party press release said that this is Manjit GK’s second term as President of the Delhi SAD (Badal) unit. Maj Gen J J Singh, who had joined the SAD in the run up to the last assembly elections and was the party’s candidate from the Patiala seat, has been given the crucial assignment of heading the Ex-Servicemen wing.

The party president has also re-nominated former SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur as President of the Istri Akali Dal (Badal). Former minister Gulzar Singh Ranike has been re-nominated as President of the SAD (B) Scheduled Caste wing while former minister Hira Singh Gabria has been re-nominated as President of the SAD (B)Backward Caste wing.

In a message to the Delhi Badal Dal unit president as well as new heads of the party’s frontal wings, Mr Sukhbir Badal said they should immediately start the process of forming a dynamic team and fan out in the field to address the concerns of the party’s rank and file. Mr Badal said he would also address a meeting of the frontal organizations and jointly work with them to provide succor to each and every section of society.
